Responding to disaster in Japan

In the wake of last Friday’s devastating earthquake and tsunami, Colby students have launched a “Colby Loves Japan” campaign. The organization is currently selling raffle tickets, and will be selling “Colby Loves Japan” bracelets after Spring Break. Their ultimate fundraising goal is 5,000 for the Japanese Red Cross.

As of Monday the Tufts Japanese Culture Club had raised $660 for relief efforts towards their goal of $5,000. Japanese students in the Fletcher school joined students from MIT, Harvard, and BU in launching Action4JapanBoston. Fundraising efforts for the Japanese Red Cross kicked off Monday in the Fletcher Hall of Flags where the organization will be selling “Action4JapanBoston” T-shirts all week.
