Bored of the stuff on the radio?

Here’s some information about two AWESOME upcoming music festivals. For those of us who will salivate over the line- ups, but likely won’t make it to the shows, we’re including links to our favorite songs by these artists.

This festival in the desert is teeming with talent– and coming up fast (21 days!) This year it runs from Friday April 15th to Sunday April 7th.  The concerts take place on the Empire Polo Fields in Indio, CA, and part of the experience includes large sculptural art– sweet. 2011’s line-up includes big names like Cee Lo Green, Mumford and Sons, Jimmy Eat World, Ellie Goulding, Kanye, and Wiz. Here are some of the other (equally fantastic) artists that you may not have heard of:

Crystal Castles- Vanished

Cut Copy- Saturdays and Take Me Over

Sleigh Bells- Kids

The Black Keys- I Got Mine

Animal Collective- My Girls

Two Door Cinema Club- Something Good Can Work

The National- Fake Empire

In its own words, “The Nateva Music & Camping Festival is a 4-day, multi-stage outdoor camping event held August 4-7, 2011 in Oxford, Maine. Located only 2.5 hours from Boston and 45 minutes from Portland, Maine, Northern New England’s premier music festival features world class artists in the true Jam Band tradition, as well as a sweet mix of Rock, Bluegrass, Electronica and local New England flavor.”

The most recognizable names on this year’s line-up are Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes (Home) and Guster (Satellite,) but check out these other acts:

STS9- Equinox and if you like killer saxophone (think LeRoi Moore) Between 6th and 7th

Gregg Allman- Ok, if you’re into Country there’s no way you haven’t heard him Just Another Rider

Ghostland Observatory- Vibrate
