Middlebury’s a cappella group the Bobolinks (apparently renowned for their Cindy Lauper medley?) will be featured on Voices Only A Cappella 2011 (a compilation of the nation’s best collegiate a cappella) singing “Leave It” by Yes. I’d say buy it on iTunes, but you can’t beat campus chapel acoustics and sneak recruiting concerts on the quad.
Timeflies channels Fergie Ferg in their new release, and no surprise it’s call the Dr. Dre ill. Sometimes I try to watch Cal’s lips move, but all I can see is a blur with a scrolling ticker that says “you wish.”
Tyler the Creator can spew about Satan til the cows come home, but at the end of the day all I want is some stuffed crust and a chalupa. Luckily, Wes alums Das Racist will release their first actual album on September 13th. According to Rolling Stone, Relax features collaborations with Diplo, Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij, Yeasayer’s Anand Wilder, El-P and Drake songwriter Francis Farewell Starlite. Ugh, is this some type of sick joke? Good thing I have about 90 pounds on the average hipster or this might actually kill me. Both Arcade Fire and the Weeknd (first nominee to be solely online, and it’s free!) are up for Canada’s Polaris prize for best full-length album. It’s like having to choose between marriage or a lifetime of cats and stale cookies…impossible.
